American Sniper Film Preview

Last weekend I went to a preview of 'American Sniper' at the Stratford East Picturehouse cinema in London.

American Sniper is a biographical war film, based on the true story of Chris Kyle; dubbed as USA's most lethal sniper in military history. He was often nicknamed the 'legend' for his incredible ability to kill but he feels guilty for the men he could not save. The film focuses on the four tours he did on the Iraq war whilst also depicting the agony and nerves his wife and children had to go through. He had a son and a daughter with whom he struggles to form a fatherly bond.

It is a moving and emotional film about the hard reality of war and the consequences throughout. I was gripped from the beginning but at the same time a couple of scenes were hard to watch due to the graphic scenes of violence and gore. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this film and would definitely recommend to others.

Chris Kyle was played by Bradley Cooper. He really had to beef up for this film! Haha
His wife was played by Sienna Miller and it was directed by Clint Eastwood.

I would give this film a solid 9/10.

American Sniper is out in UK cinemas on Friday 16th January.
